Letters indicate Biden lags behind Trump in polls

Polling mysteries

If a pollster were to contact me, I would agree with the findings in this article: President Biden is failing to make a compelling case for reelection (“Voters still hedging,” March 13).

I wonder why pollsters do not ask questions about deportation or migrant apprehensions?

I believe Biden would receive low ratings on those issues.

I think the media uses polls to influence and shape a narrative based on their audience.

Despite what the White House asserts, people are becoming weary of Biden and his efforts to appeal to voters.

Aaron’s errors

Can things get any worse for future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers (“RFK VP reveal on way,” March 14)?

First, he loses out on hosting the popular quiz show Jeopardy.

Then he faces a season-ending injury in his very first game as a New York Jet.

Now, there are rumors that Robert Kennedy Jr. is contemplating him as his running mate in this year’s presidential election.

So, what’s next?

Perhaps a DNA sample that proves his throwing arm is genetically enhanced?

Holy moly Francis

Once again, Pope Francis is involving himself in global politics (“Furor at Francis after urging ‘white flag’ in Ukraine,” March 11).

He suggested Ukraine raise a white flag to stop the war.

Does he not realize that Pope Pius’ failure to condemn the massacre of Jews by Nazi Germany tarnished the papacy?

Francis should speak out against Russian aggression, China’s mistreatment of Uyghurs, and injustice worldwide.

Awards annoyance

How “Oppenheimer” won the award for best picture is a mystery to me (“Kaboom we all knew was comin,’ ” March 11).

I have spoken to very few people who liked the film, yet as usual, the elite in society seem oblivious to what the average person thinks or wants.

Hollywood can afford to believe the country is in good shape because celebrities have enough money to think that way.

They do not have to worry about inflated prices in a grocery store.

Additionally, Jimmy Kimmel making the awards political was absurd.

Philly tragedy

Last week’s mass shooting in northeast Philadelphia left eight high school students injured (“8 teens shot, including one struck 9 times, while waiting for bus in ambush attack in Philadelphia,” March 6).

Philadelphia has been one of the most violent cities in America for decades.

The narrative needs to change, and elected officials need to take action.

Innocent youth waiting for the bus home after school are becoming victims of gun violence.

Big black markets

Selling fake IDs is not a new phenomenon (“Fakes take the cake!” March 14).

I have witnessed this firsthand in Los Angeles.

Illegal vendors set up stalls and sell merchandise that seems to be stolen.

Homeless individuals pitch tents and sell items that still have security tags from stores they likely stole them from.

Laws and common sense no longer appear to be the norm in this country.
