Letters indicate decline in quality of life in NYC

The Issue: A new survey finding that most New Yorkers are unsatisfied with the city’s quality of life.

New Yorkers are expressing dissatisfaction with the quality of life in the city (“It’s a blunderful life, New York,” March 20).
The situation is dire, with constant noise, littered streets, subway shootings, and various other issues.

Furthermore, emergency response times to 911 calls are slow, and 311 calls are even worse. Complaints often go unanswered for hours, reflecting the city’s lack of effectiveness in addressing issues.

Safety is a major concern, turning daily activities like walking the streets or using public transport into risky endeavors, with no guarantee of security.

As a native of Staten Island, I used to enjoy visiting Manhattan for various activities, but not anymore.

Former Mayor Bill De Blasio and current Mayor Adams have failed the city, and their leadership has led to its decline.

New Yorkers have reaped the consequences of voting for “woke” Democrats, resulting in a city that fails to live up to its former greatness.

Michael Goodwin accurately portrays the challenges facing New York under Democratic leadership post-Bloomberg and Pataki.

The city is plagued with crime, garbage-filled streets, drug-addicted homeless individuals, and other issues, creating a grim environment for residents.

Despite these challenges, there are New Yorkers who still believe their quality of life is good, showcasing a divide in perceptions about the city’s conditions.

Goodwin’s assessment of New York City accurately captures the current state of the city under Democratic rule.

The deteriorating conditions, coupled with recent controversies surrounding Mayor Adams, paint a bleak picture of life in the city.

The Issue: A former member of Hezbollah arrested for crossing southern border illegally.

Recent events highlight the vulnerability of our borders and the risks posed by allowing unchecked entry into the country.

The open border has enabled individuals with malicious intent, including terrorists, to enter the country undetected, posing a threat to national security.

Strict border control measures are essential to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of citizens.

President Biden’s lax immigration policies have allowed criminals and potential terrorists to enter the country unchecked, posing a significant threat to national security.

The consequences of these policies could be severe, leading to potential incidents like 9/11 in the future.
