Letters on the Shameful Salaries of Cuomo’s Unjust Parole Board
The Concern: A staggering 87% salary increase for state Parole Board members since 2019, during which they have released 43 cop-killers.
Tina Moore’s article regarding the Parole Board highlights that true justice is increasingly absent in New York (“Parole Board has ‘free’ rein,” April 13).
Justice has unfortunately become a mere tradeable asset.
Ex-Governor Andrew Cuomo and his associates have degraded justice to a zero-sum scenario where victims are left wanting and criminals evade full accountability — despite the findings of impartial juries.
Those in New York were alerted about the dangers of “defining deviancy down” 32 years ago by a true advocate for societal welfare. Daniel Patrick Moynihan must be restless in his grave.

The Parole Board in New York represents a troubling assembly of generously compensated, criminal-friendly liberal extremists who jeopardize public safety for their misguided pursuit of “restorative justice.” The release of 43 convicted cop-killers is absolutely appalling.
What justification exists for offering a second chance to any convicted murderer? Were their victims granted the same opportunity?
The composition of the board needs realignment to ensure it includes more members with law enforcement backgrounds and fewer who share a public defender’s viewpoint.

Each of the 16 practically unemployable members of the Parole Board earns a hefty $190,000 annually for minimal effort. Many are appointees of Cuomo whose main function appears to be to reintroduce felons back onto our streets.
One particularly notable example is Tana Agostini, who seemed to use her role to connect with murderer Thomas O’Sullivan. While love may be blind, this situation certainly inflicts pain on all of us taxpayers who are simply trying to make ends meet at $190,000 per year.

The state Parole Board is heavily biased against crime victims, law enforcement, violent crime prosecutors, judges, and, ultimately, public safety.
Not a single member of the 16-person board represents these crucial interests, nor does it reflect the large portion of New Yorkers who aren’t registered Democrats.

The Concern: Proposed job cuts by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is correct to emphasize the broader issues at stake (“Healthy Cuts to Fed Fat,” Robert F. Kennedy, April 11).
America experiences an alarming number of excess deaths annually compared to other developed nations, despite spending twice the amount on healthcare. This disgraceful reality should invoke shame across the nation.
Reforming our healthcare system is a monumental challenge. If given the opportunity, Kennedy could make the necessary changes.

The Post has criticized him repeatedly. Thus, providing him a platform to spread more deceit is unacceptable.
