Letters: The New York Post endorses Donald Trump for President
The Issue: The Post’s endorsement of former President Donald Trump for president in the 2024 election.
Kudos to The Post for endorsing former President Donald Trump alongside its cover headline, “He’s a Mensch” (“Donald Trump for President,” Editorial, Oct. 25).
This endorsement recognizes Trump’s significance, while the front-page headline quotes Holocaust survivor Jerry Wartski — and is a stirring response to Vice President Kamala Harris’ claim that Trump is a fascist and comparable to Hitler.

Your newspaper is endorsing a convicted felon who was found liable for sexual abuse and a failed businessman who bankrupted several companies.
Trump is a man who will do anything and say anything to get what he wants, regardless of legality, a man who lies with every waking breath.
He’s a man who cares not for this country but only for himself and his desires. Remember what several of his highly respected former Cabinet members have said about him.
Trump would accomplish none of his supposed domestic goals unless he could act unilaterally, without congressional approval.
Trump’s only strength is foreign policy, but world leaders view him as an unstable amateur — and they are 100% correct.

As a devoted, longtime Trump supporter, I want to thank you for this much-deserved endorsement by one of the nation’s most popular and trusted media companies.
While many Democratic Party-controlled media outlets are either endorsing Harris or refusing to endorse, your support of Trump is truly important and special.
Let’s hope he wins, along with all of his endorsed down-ballot candidates — to return Senate and House control to the Republican Party.

What a surprise — your editorial staff endorsed Trump for president.
Where else can a right-wing newspaper support a second-generation Mussolini and his plans to increase the budget deficit by $7.5 trillion while prosecuting political rivals?
Have we become a banana republic, one that treats females akin to cavemen?

Kudos to the intrepid Post for endorsing Trump. It joins the ranks of only a handful of newspapers bold enough to go against the grain and the general “etiquette” of public opinion.
The Post has a record of outsmarting its competitors and will likely build on that record once again.

The Post’s endorsement of Trump could not bring itself to acknowledge the elephant in the room.
Even a glimpse of the Jan. 6 Committee hearings in Congress was enough to confirm what was already clear during the Capitol attack: Trump encouraged many people in many different ways to take illegal action to grant him the presidency, knowing it was wrong.
If the former president himself acted lawlessly, how can “law and order” exist under him?

In the runup to the 2016 election, many on the left smugly declared they’d leave the country if Trump won. He did — and, sadly, they didn’t leave.
Now those similar sentiments are circulating among the nation’s so-called “elite.” One can only hope they keep their word this time.

It’s funny how you now warmly endorse Trump for president when, during the primaries, you had nothing good to say about him.
What has changed about him now when, before, The Post stated he should never hold that office again?

I disagree with The Post’s endorsement of Trump, but I respect your right to endorse the candidate you believe should be president.
Jeff Bezos of The Washington Post, on the other hand, chose not to endorse anyone. The reason: He’s afraid of antagonizing Trump.
