Migrant crisis forces Greg Abbott’s hand as Mayorkas and Dems take action

Democrats are criticizing Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for aiding migrants in traveling to cities like New York and causing overwhelming issues. However, they leave Abbott with no other options.

Team Biden has not taken any action to control the influx of migrants overwhelming his state.

However, the Biden administration has filed a lawsuit against Abbott for using razor wire to block migrants from illegally crossing into Texas and plans to oppose new Texas laws allowing local law enforcement to deport lawbreakers.

Since they won’t let him keep or deport migrants, Texas is left to bear the cost of this influx on its own. Transporting migrants out of Texas is the only way to relieve the pressure on cities like El Paso, Brownsville, and Laredo.

Dems like Mayor Adams and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, who join in the Abbott-bashing but won’t demand President Biden regain control of the border, only make matters worse for Abbott — and themselves.

Texas’ leader won’t “cooperate with other governors” and address the “challenge” facing the nation, huffed Homeland Security boss Alejandro Mayorkas on Wednesday.

Mayorkas, who now faces impeachment proceedings in the House for mishandling of the border, is covering for Biden when he shifts blame to Abbott. No one is buying it.

Abbott “wants to disrupt,” Adams railed Tuesday. “This is a diabolical plan by this governor.”

Sorry, but it’s Mayorkas and Biden who created — intentionally — the very “challenge” they now lament.

They could end the crisis overnight if they want, but their goal is to take in as many migrants as possible (with someone else paying for accommodations).

The coordinated efforts they seek won’t reduce the number of migrants flooding in and needing accommodation.

It won’t create more beds or produce more funds for them. Fact is, only one thing can ease the crisis mayors and governors face: stopping the surge. Yet Dems don’t want that — or at least won’t publicly demand it from Biden.

Mayorkas and Biden are seeking to downplay their responsibility in the crisis by pointing fingers at Abbott. However, their actions indicate that they could easily end the situation if desired. They are focused on accepting as many migrants as possible without taking responsibility for the associated costs or accommodations.
