Modern Democrats Expose Their Real Intentions Aligned with Confederate Ideals

Contemporary Democrats have adopted a narrative supporting illegal immigration that mirrors the arguments used by pro-slavery Democrats in the 1800s.

“I had to travel across the nation to explain the contributions of immigrants to our country, reminding everyone that we are a nation of immigrants. The reality is that none of you are eager to farm right now,” Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) stated during a speech celebrating Grace Baptist Church’s 125th anniversary in Waterbury, Conn.

“You’re simply not interested. We have moved past picking cotton. You can’t pay us enough for that anymore.”

Democrats argue that a low-cost, illegal workforce is essential and suggest that individuals from countries like Mexico, Honduras, and Haiti should be compelled to fulfill these roles.

Rep. Jerry Nadler of New York concurs, remarking in a hearing last year, “Let’s overlook the fact that our crops would rot in the fields without the labor of many immigrants, including many illegal immigrants.”

In January 2025, Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) questioned the then agriculture secretary nominee, Brooke Rollins, during her confirmation hearing about the consequences of losing illegal labor.

“It’s estimated that around half of California’s farm workforce lacks documentation. How will farmers in California survive if mass deportations occur, removing half of their workforce?”

“Americans aren’t willing to do that labor. It’s simply too backbreaking. So, who will tend to the farms?”

Do Democrats — the party associated with woke culture and cancel culture — realize the inherent racism in their stance?

Rekindled Romance

The modern Democratic Party seems to have revived its affinity for pro-slavery rhetoric to maintain a system that disregards human suffering and the economic constraints faced by the American working class.

What Democrats conveniently overlook is that their open-border policy contributes to the flourishing of sociopathic Mexican cartels that profit immensely from human trafficking, including the sexual enslavement of kidnapped women and children, as well as extorting anyone trying to cross our southern border.

In a 2021 NBC News report, David Sanabria, a Honduran citizen, and his daughter Ximena paid coyotes to enter the U.S., only to be kidnapped by cartel members and held for ransom.

The cartel reached out to David’s brother, threatening him with death for both David and Ximena unless he paid thousands of dollars.

David recounted witnessing murders of those whose families failed to pay and was even forced to consume their remains to conceal evidence of the killings.

History Repeats Itself

The increase in border crossings during the Biden administration has resulted in a rise in cartel- and gang-operated brothels in New York City, forcing the NYPD to ultimately secure areas such as Roosevelt Avenue in Queens.

During my school years, teachers educated us about African slaves perishing on ships en route to the Americas.

However, we are witnessing a repetition of history as our modern-day slaves die in abandoned trucks from heat exhaustion while being smuggled into America like disposable cargo.

What Democrats fail to convey is that the pursuit of cheap labor is synonymous with human suffering, and our desire for a low-cost workforce contradicts our mission to advocate for human rights in our own backyard.

In an 1850 article, James D.B. De Bow, editor of the prominent Southern economic journal De Bow’s Review, stated, “Remove the labor of the slave, and the primary products of the South — cotton, rice, sugar, and tobacco — would cease to be supplied in sufficient quantities for global demand… The devastation of the South implies the downfall of the North.”

What might he think if he knew that, 170 years later, a black congresswoman echoed his sentiments?

“Who will pick the cotton?” — is there no shame, Jasmine Crockett, in using an argument reminiscent of the Confederacy?
