MTA chief Janno Lieber cannot advise you to direct your congestion-pricing grievances to Albany
MTA Chairman and CEO Janno Lieber is frustrated with the criticism surrounding congestion pricing at public hearings discussing its implementation.
He believes it’s time for the press to clarify that congestion pricing is a state law, and they are simply working on implementing it effectively.
Despite complaints and lawsuits, New York is determined to implement this tax, and everyone will be expected to pay it.
Lieber is eager to start generating the promised $1 billion annually from tolls to fund the MTA.
Instead of addressing fare evasion due to restrictions from Albany or cutting down on construction spending to avoid upsetting unions, they are choosing to burden New Yorkers financially.
Influential individuals like mass-transit advocates, urban-planning experts, and environmentally-conscious individuals are quick to criticize drivers, regardless of the impact on working individuals.
Voters should take note that these politicians are not looking out for their well-being or financial concerns.
It raises the question, why do we continue to elect them?
