Nikki Haley’s Lack of Knowledge About Her Own Party’s Support for Trump Explains His Last-Man-Standing Status

As her presidential campaign winds down, Nikki Haley is adjusting her approach.

She’s not just criticizing Donald Trump anymore, she’s also going after Republicans who support him.

All of them.

As her chances on Super Tuesday dwindle, Haley is pointing fingers at the people she sought votes from for over a year.

Since she failed to convince enough of them, she’s now blaming them for not being the right kind of Republicans.

“I understand why Republicans are leaving the Republican Party, because we were always focused on small government and freedom: economic freedom, personal freedom,” Haley mentioned to reporters.

“You don’t see economic freedom coming from Republicans now.”

Then, she shifted blame to the media, accusing them of making the race solely about Trump instead of the primary or the country’s direction.

Despite all this, she claims she’s not against him.

“I’m not anti-Trump,” she stated.

“This is about my belief that America and the Republican Party can do better than this.”

Shortly after, she criticized Trump extensively on multiple issues during a rally speech.

Out of sync

Even with little to lose, Haley’s actions were remarkable on that day.

It’s evident why her GOP support has decreased during the primaries and why she gathers more support from Democrats, who think she’d be an easier opponent in November.

Despite her dedication and significant public service record, she doesn’t align with the party she seeks to lead.

It seems like she doesn’t appreciate the party’s voters much, and they have reciprocated that sentiment.

Some Washington reporters described her as appealing to a party that has vanished.

According to Bloomberg news, she “mourned the Republican Party’s shift from its core beliefs in small government and free markets.”

This narrative portrays an American tragedy, as if those reporters had a deep fondness for the GOP until Trump disrupted everything.

She’s not incorrect that the party has evolved.

However, she fails to grasp the reason behind this evolution.

It would be beneficial if she acknowledged that radical leftists now dominate the Democrats’ agenda, and a conciliatory approach by the GOP is futile.

Like the media, Haley longs for the days when the GOP was refined, united — and content with losing.

Enter Trump, who, regardless of opinions about him, most of which are accurate, has transformed the GOP into a party no longer at ease with defeat.

He withstood the FBI and CIA’s surveillance, defeated Hillary Clinton, and is now under constant assault by Democratic media and prosecutors.

Despite it all, he has persevered, which is why he’s poised to secure the party’s presidential nomination for the third consecutive time.

Furthermore, his policy achievements surpass President Biden’s, particularly in the border and economy domains.

Trump’s strength lies in being a defender and a brawler, traits lacking in past GOP nominees like Mitt Romney, John McCain, or the Bushes.

In contrast, Haley, despite her diverse background and efforts to break the party’s glass ceiling, resembles the GOP candidates of bygone eras more than Trump.

Many of his supporters label her a RINO — a Republican in name only — due to her temperament and policies.

This label signifies a compromise with Democrats in the hopes of reciprocation, an expectation that no longer holds true in today’s political landscape.

Democrat cohesion

Three instances exemplify how today’s Democrats adhere to cutthroat rules reminiscent of Soviet leaders: What belongs to me stays mine, but what belongs to you is negotiable.

Initially, despite having a historically close House margin and internal divisions, Republicans expelled one of their own, George Santos, after federal charges were filed against him.

On the contrary, Democrats hold a slim Senate majority but took no steps to oust their own, such as New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez, indicted on more serious charges including acting as a foreign agent.

Secondly, the contrasting viewpoints on impeachment from each side highlight their differences.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s House, controlled by Democrats, brought forth impeachment charges against Trump regarding Ukraine during his tenure, resulting in two articles of impeachment.

Both articles passed, with minimal opposition from Democrats. On the second impeachment after Jan 6, 10 Republicans, along with all Democrats, voted affirmatively, and GOP Rep. Liz Cheney played a major role in the subsequent House hearings.

Currently with Republicans in control of the House, they struggled to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas due to his lax border security measures.

The initial vote resulted in a tie, with the second vote passing by a one-vote margin as three Republicans sided with all Democrats in opposition.

Note the unity among Democrats, despite any internal disagreements, when it comes to critical votes?

Regarding the potential impeachment of Joe Biden for corruption within his family, the GOP struggled to garner support for a formal impeachment inquiry.

All Democrats voted against it.

During hearings, Democrats aim to derail witnesses and downplay testimonies while standing united in defending the president, despite evidence of Biden’s involvement in corrupt dealings.

Even with testimonies and financial records showing his brother Jim Biden’s money exchanges with foreign clients, there isn’t a Democrat counterpart to Liz Cheney willing to break ranks or enough GOP support for an impeachment vote.

Cutthroat politics

Thirdly, the relentless pursuit to prosecute and financially ruin Trump through indictments and civil cases led by Democrats from New York, Georgia, and federal authorities sets a precedent.

Moreover, multiple blue states attempted to ban Trump from ballot appearances, a matter the Supreme Court is expected to rule on soon.

Contrary to the notion of a natural legal push, The New York Times had reported Biden’s dissatisfaction with Attorney General Merrick Garland for not pursuing Trump. Consequently, Garland complied with Biden’s wishes.

In the case handled by Georgia prosecutor Fani Willis, she involved her romantic partner and potentially lied under oath, with records indicating frequent White House visits, implying Biden’s aides facilitated Trump’s prosecution.

This unified and ruthless front from Democrats is what Republicans are up against, solidifying Trump as the only candidate remaining.
