Novocaine” Star Ray Nicholson on His A-List Father Jack: “Being Nice Can Be Intimidating
Hollywood Heirs Ready to Shine
A new film titled “Novocaine.” features Jack Quaid, son of Meg Ryan, alongside Ray Nicholson, son of Jack Nicholson. Off the set, Ray remarks: “Jack’s kindness can be intimidating because I don’t consider myself that nice of a guy.” The film hits theaters tomorrow, so be sure to bring your dentist.
Here’s another spring cinematic treat: Steven Soderbergh’s British wit spy thriller “Black Bag.” Cate Blanchett states: “I portray a character with deep flaws. In espionage, everyone is damaged and has nothing to lose.”
Pierce Brosnan portrays a morally ambiguous character and is pleased with the wardrobe. “His ethics are questionable, but he definitely wears a stunning suit, and his ego is enormous.” He has another fitting scheduled for tomorrow.
Back in 1972, the late Gene Hackman shared the screen with Lee Marvin and Sissy Spacek. Lee Marvin famously said: “When audiences see me on screen, they know two things: I’m not the one getting the girl, and I’ll have a cheap funeral awaiting me.”
No happy endings on film here. Also appearing are Laurence Fishburne and Rachel Brosnahan in “The Amateur.” Rami Malek plays a timid CIA decoder in a basement. After his wife is murdered, he seeks vengeance, taking down bad guys in the process.
If you crave more chaos and carnage, Portugal has just announced the Tribeca Film Festival in Lisbon this October. Exciting times ahead—more violence and drama to come in the fall. Mucho mazel tov to us all.
Bothered by Press Inquiries
Unsolicited emails from the Sun newspaper flood my inbox every hour! How I wish my hair could grow that fast. Their political journalists seem intent on crowding my mailbox. My response? “Forget it.” Unfortunately, they don’t seem to remember. Here’s a glimpse from yesterday’s correspondence:
Alan Dershowitz comments: “In the current media climate, too many outlets miss the mark. They’re more focused on the political ramifications of a story rather than the underlying facts.”
Next, he mentions, “The New York Sun — a publication that prioritizes principles over politics and people over parties — is unique. The future of our nation relies on the revival of authentic American journalism…devoted to that mission truly ‘shines for all.’” The red text then shouts, “Join for just one cent.”
Next, we hear from Newt Gingrich, who hails the Sun as “a patriotic paper that embodies American values and features his exclusive weekly column.”
Following him, Conrad Black lists “helping to build the third-largest newspaper company in the Western Hemisphere” and remarks, “Many journalists betray public trust instead of holding the powerful accountable on behalf of the oppressed.” The next line offers, “Begin reading for just a cent per day.”
Then, a series of messages from Larry Kudlow flood in, insisting that “Trump embodies a new American spirit” and urging me to subscribe to the Sun.

Meanwhile, a big thank you to Quest’s spring issue for featuring my photo donning a beige cashmere shawl from the Cinema Society’s movie premiere hosted by producer Andrew Saffir.
Thanks also to Denis Morovic of DK restaurant on West 36th Street, which, in the days of MSG and Billy Joel, garnered $275K annually from sales of chicken wings, meatball appetizers, and porterhouse steaks.
Downtown encounter: Customer: “I can’t afford to pay for this suit for another six months.” Tailor: “No worries.” Customer: “So when will it be ready?” Tailor: “In six months.”
Only in New York, folks, only in New York.
