NYers to Democrats: We’re Tired of the Left’s Status Quo
Attention Democrats: New Yorkers are increasingly frustrated with the failing, left-wing status quo.
According to a survey by the Honan Strategy Group, an alarming 75% of potential Democratic primary voters consider Gotham “to be in a state of crisis”; about 80% express concern over current crime rates, and 70% feel “anxious and fearful” about the city’s future.
New Yorkers have only felt this level of despair a couple of times in recent history, notably following 9/11 and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The reasons are clear: Daily encounters with deranged individuals and repeat offenders released due to reckless bail reforms, along with lenient DAs and judges, contribute to this climate of fear.
The fortunate ones only have to read stories about individuals assaulted, stabbed, or pushed onto train tracks.
The less fortunate actually experience it.
Almost half (45%) of those surveyed indicated that if conditions deteriorated any further, they would have to join the hundreds of thousands who have left the state recently.
Are you listening, Democrats? That is the sound of your tax base cautiously moving toward the exits due to your policies.
As if the crime-laden subways and streets weren’t enough, New Yorkers are facing communities overrun by migrant hotel shelters filled with gang members involved in drug and weapons trafficking, a troubling situation funded by their tax contributions.
It’s also no surprise that a new Siena College poll reveals that nearly 80% of New Yorkers statewide support deporting migrants convicted of crimes.
In other words, this aligns perfectly with what President Trump is advocating.
Yet, the elitist progressives running the city are outraged by the operations that removed migrants with serious charges such as murder, sexual assault, and kidnapping from their neighborhoods.
Mayoral contender Brad Lander described the raids as “heartbreaking” and claimed he’d “put [his] own body on the line to uphold sanctuary city laws.”
Rep. Nydia Velazquez lamented: “This mass deportation agenda is targeting our loved ones.”
New York City Council Member Althea Athens called it “unacceptable that community members are being removed from their homes without due process or transparency.”
“Community members,” in this context, refers to “wanted, violent criminals” in politically correct jargon.
Fortunately, Trump has made it clear that his border enforcement and deportations of dangerous individuals will proceed whether or not local authorities cooperate.
But why do Democratic leaders not care that their constituents feel unsafe and isolated in their own city?
New Yorkers are demanding change, yet the self-absorbed, out-of-touch leaders responsible for this turmoil are determined to ignore their cries.
If these leaders refuse to amend their harmful policies, voters may simply decide to change . . . their leaders.
