Only by withholding information on administration failures can Democrats avoid facing Kamala Harris’ disappointing track record
Censorship is being considered as a desperate measure by Democrat leaders as Kamala Harris struggles in swing states and among Hispanic voters against Donald Trump.
The candidate they hastily installed appears to be less appealing to voters than Joe Biden. Along with her unlikable personality and inability to communicate clearly, her major issue is the illegal migrant crisis.
As Biden’s appointed border czar, Harris cannot escape responsibility for the damage caused during her tenure, as millions of illegal aliens, including criminals and terrorists, have entered the country.
Despite her attempts to appear tough on the border and shift the blame onto Trump with a staged photo op at the Arizona border, the truth about the situation cannot be ignored. New data revealed that over 600,000 illegal migrants with criminal backgrounds have been released in the country, including convicted murderers and rapists.
Misinformation vs. Disinformation
With mounting evidence of Harris’ failures, Democrats are resorting to censoring negative information about the border, the economy, and other failures of the Biden-Harris administration. They are also trying to hide Harris’ past radical views in order to maintain her image as a moderate.
Former secretaries of state, Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, have expressed their desire to limit the freedom of speech to “break the fever” of disinformation by electing Harris. Clinton has even suggested criminal sanctions against those spreading misinformation.
However, the definition of misinformation seems to change based on what is inconvenient for Democrats, as seen in the censorship of accurate reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 election. Kerry, in a recent panel discussion, attacked freedom of speech as an obstacle to consensus, revealing the Democrats’ desire to control the narrative.
Challenges to Democracy
The Democrats’ frustration with alternative sources of information and the inability to control the narrative has led to calls for limiting free speech. Kerry lamented that the First Amendment prevents the suppression of information deemed as disinformation, making it difficult to achieve consensus.
Despite their efforts to control the narrative, the First Amendment continues to protect freedom of speech and prevents authoritarian control. Kerry and Clinton’s attempts to manipulate information to their advantage highlights the importance of upholding democratic principles.
If Harris wins the election, there are concerns that censorship may become more prevalent in America, following the trends seen in other countries like the UK, Europe, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
