Other Democrats fail to recognize the rot that Mehdi Hasan embodies, according to Rep. Ritchie Torres.
Prominent journalist Mehdi Hasan, known for his anti-Semitic views, was quick to blame the victims of the Amsterdam soccer pogrom. However, Bronx Democratic Representative Ritchie Torres, who has consistently opposed his party’s stance on Israel, shut him down., who’s bucked his party’s vile stance on Israel from the start, has shot him down.
Hasan openly stated that the Jews who were chased through the streets and attacked after a soccer match were to blame for provoking the violence, claiming that fans of the visiting team Maccabi had acted out first.
However, this claim is false as WhatsApp messages have emerged from the day before the game, calling for a “Jew hunt” and referring to Maccabi fans as “cancer dogs.”
His statements also show sympathy towards anti-Semitic thugs.
Representative Torres intervened bravely in the situation.
He criticized Hasan on Instagram, stating, “Mehdi Hasan is justifying a pogrom against Jews in Amsterdam. Yet make no mistake: mainstream media will continue platforming Hasan because America no longer treats anti-Semitism as a moral line that should never be crossed.”
Torres is right in pointing out Hasan’s justification of the pogrom.
Hasan’s attempts to backtrack from his initial stance only confirm this fact.
Representative Torres is also correct in highlighting that anti-Semitism is no longer seen as forbidden in America and that Hasan will not face any real consequences.
This is a result of the effort by radical leftists to normalize Jew hatred as a form of “resistance” and “anti-imperialism.”
The Democratic Party has also engaged with these radicals and given them political support.
Additionally, former President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden showed support for Iran.
Since October 7, the left has openly shown their hatred, praising Hamas and using rhetoric similar to Goebbels where only Jews are blamed.
Hasan is among those who promote this ideology.
Mainstream journalists and national Democrats could easily prove Torres wrong by rejecting Hasan and his allies.
However, don’t expect this to happen anytime soon.
