Pennsylvania Democrats disregard democracy in Bob Casey-Dave McCormick race
According to Democratic officials in Pennsylvania, election denial poses a serious threat to democracy, unless it benefits a Republican candidate, in which case it’s acceptable to bend the rules to overturn the results.
Commissioners in four Pennsylvania counties have been disregarding the state’s top court’s rulings by counting disqualified ballots in an attempt to overturn the Senate race results between Sen. Bob Casey and GOP challenger Dave McCormick.
Despite McCormick leading by tens of thousands of votes and the Associated Press declaring him the winner, Casey has refused to concede and election boards have been working to change the outcome.
The Keystone State’s Supreme Court, composed of five Democrats and two Republicans, had previously ruled that ballots missing a correct date on the return envelopes are invalid, yet these guidelines are being ignored in favor of counting votes for Casey.
Diane Ellis-Marseglia from Bucks County complained about the lack of regard for laws and court precedents, emphasizing the importance of counting votes above all else. Montgomery County’s election board chairman, Neil Makhija, dismissed the significance of the missing dates on ballots.
The mainstream media has overlooked this violation of election laws, with The New York Times downplaying it as merely a “twist” in the election process.
Fortunately, the McCormick campaign took legal action, resulting in the high court issuing an order to cease the illegal counting of defective ballots.
Will the Democratic Party, self-proclaimed as the saviors of democracy, succeed in their attempt to overturn the election results?
Governor Josh Shapiro finally spoke out against the defiance of laws and emphasized the importance of upholding the electoral process, urging Casey to concede and avoid unnecessary recount expenses.
