People are flocking to Florida, turning Manhattan into a ‘buyer’s market’

Discovering the Right Melodies

Dispatches from the field.

Mr. Weir from Delaware comments on the religious hate in our universities: “Our nation was founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs, and we arrived here with the motto ‘In God We Trust.’ We have strayed from our sacred commitment.”

Clotilde from NYC reflects on the sanctimony of posterity that we confront, believing we know better.

I am deeply appreciative of Jim and others who enjoyed my Mother’s Day column. He shared about his own mother’s journey in her later years.

Letters have arrived from Shrewsbury, Mass.; Cambridge, Maine; Mr. Patterson from Washington, DC; Elaine from Center Moriches; and Pat from New Haven, Conn.

Chappie left a note on the back of one of my pieces encouraging me to continue writing columns.

Elaine from Center Moriches stood out by calling me an “Artrageous Woman,” a departure from the usual fan letters that start with “Dear Stupid.” Meanwhile, Hughes from The Bronx had an envelope labeled “Day Spring.”

A reader from Howard Beach shared information about the Battle of Long Island, which I was not aware of previously. A historian provided detailed handwritten pages on the topic.

Pat Florio from Connecticut sent her love, and Lawyer Mendes advised me to keep working.

A detailed account from a book about how Peter Stuyvesant lost his leg to a cannonball was shared with me. Bunny from Central Park West sent a folder with jokes, including one about a man on a plane carrying dead raccoons.

Well wishes also came from Jim, Mr. Hughes from The Bronx, and Angie from Maryland.

I am grateful for the readers of the New York Post who are located far beyond the bounds of NYC.

New York Real Estate Trends

“Manhattan is now considered a ‘buyer’s market.’”

Real estate dynamics in Manhattan have shifted significantly.

Average prices have dropped by 3% to approximately $2 million.

The inventory of available apartments has grown, leading to slower sales and more time for buyers to make decisions. Luxury apartment prices are falling for the first time in over a year.

The rising rents are motivating renters to become buyers, making it an opportune time to invest in a home.

In essence, high-income individuals with substantial portfolios are moving to Florida for its low taxes, leaving behind the bustling city life of New York.

An elder from Florida recently visited our town and painted it beige.

Only in New York, kids, only in New York.
