Progressives solidify control of Democratic Party with Kamala Harris’ VP pick, Tim Walz

The media’s excitement over Kamala Harris selecting Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate highlights the fact that Democrats are presenting voters with the most left-leaning ticket a major American party has ever put together.

All the boxes for diversity, equity, and inclusion are checked, but there is a lack of ideological or political diversity.

They may appear different physically, but they both share an extreme radical viewpoint.

The difference from just four years ago is striking.

Back then, Joe Biden was seen as a centrist who chose Harris due to her biracial background, gender, and her progressive policies from the West Coast.

The goal was to expand the party’s appeal with a ticket that could attract various constituencies.

However, now that Biden is out of the picture, Democrats are inexplicably moving even further to the left.

Therefore, the progressive ticket for 2024 solidifies the dominance of what was once a relatively minor faction.

Don’t risk dissenting

This selection also reflects the cancel culture prevalent on college campuses – where dissent is not tolerated.

The choice is even more puzzling considering that Biden was much more left-leaning than advertised, and the public did not approve.

Both he and Harris endorsed open borders, extravagant spending on environmental initiatives that raised gas prices and caused inflation.

They also pushed radical cultural changes onto the nation.

It turns out that allowing boys in girls’ bathrooms is not a popular move.

Who would have thought?

Their extremism led to a significant disapproval from voters even before Biden’s removal.

His 36% approval rating reflected discontent with the administration’s policies more than anything else.

Now, Democrats are presenting a double dose of the same rejected agenda to the vast majority of Americans.

Brilliant, just brilliant!

While Politico suggests that Harris chose Walz simply because she “really liked him,” it’s also true that he represents the Midwestern family man image Democrats desperately want to appeal to.

Walz gained extra points for labeling Donald Trump and JD Vance as “weird,” a term that the Democratic echo chamber embraced as an alternative to branding them as “threats to democracy” following the attack on the former president.

However, Walz’s appealing appearance contradicts his far-left politics, as evidenced by his sympathetic stance towards the rioters and arsonists who caused chaos and loss of life in Minneapolis after George Floyd’s death in the summer of 2020.

Walz’s delayed deployment of the National Guard gave the violent marauders more time to wreak havoc and destruction.

Many businesses and buildings suffered damage or were destroyed, leading to over $500 million in losses during the riots that CNN infamously described as “mostly peaceful.”

Harris’ call for donations to a bail fund for those arrested during the riots highlights how she and Walz share the same radical views.

A decision Harris didn’t make also sheds light on her governance style.

The popular governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, wanted the vice presidential slot and could have secured the state’s crucial electoral votes for Democrats.

But Shapiro, who is Jewish and a supporter of Israel despite his dislike for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, would have faced backlash from the party’s anti-Semitic group.

When Shapiro condemned the virulent anti-Semitism on campuses, he was dubbed “Genocide Josh,” revealing the far left’s extremism and ignorance.

Hostility towards Israel

Given his advantage in Pennsylvania, Harris’ decision to bypass Shapiro indicates a deep-seated antipathy towards the Jewish state.

It’s noteworthy that Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, a known anti-Semite, praised Harris’ choice of Walz over Shapiro.

As previously discussed, Harris has been consistently more critical of Israel than Biden, who has had fluctuating views since the Hamas invasion on Oct. 7.

As early as December, Harris stated that Israel “needed to do more” to protect civilians in Gaza, emphasizing the need to respect international humanitarian laws.

She also demanded an “immediate cease-fire” in March, claiming that people in Gaza were starving, a false narrative perpetuated by pro-Palestinian activists and anti-Semitic individuals.

Her refusal to preside over Netanyahu’s speech to Congress and subsequent condemnations indicate her strong stance against Israel.

Trump has various opportunities to highlight policy differences and records, but it remains unclear whether he will capitalize on them.

Recently, there was a belief that Trump had control over the race and could secure the popular vote and an Electoral College landslide.

However, most polls now show a tight race, with Harris narrowing the gap nationally and in key battleground states.

While much of this shift is due to Democrats’ enthusiasm for anyone but Biden, Trump’s recent actions have also contributed to the uncertainty.

Following a successful GOP convention, Trump stumbled in a disastrous appearance at an event for black journalists.

His comments on Harris’ racial identity were bizarre and raised questions about his suitability for the presidency.

The event likely reinforced doubts about Trump for many voters.

Futile Feud with Kemp

In a recent appearance in Georgia, Trump reignited his feud with the state’s GOP governor, Brian Kemp.

Their conflict stemmed from the 2020 election, where Trump believed Kemp and the state’s secretary of state should have helped him win the state, which Biden narrowly took.

These efforts led to election-tampering indictments against Trump and others, initiated by Atlanta DA Fani Willis.

While the case’s credibility is in question due to Willis’ misconduct, it serves no purpose for Trump to highlight his feud with Kemp and its origins.

In a recent interview, Trump emphasized his commitment to lowering tensions and finding common ground.

Reflecting on his near-death experience, he acknowledged, “I’m not supposed to be here. I’m supposed to be dead.”

Despite this revelation, his campaign continues to lack direction and remains divisive.
