Protesters’ true colors shine as they celebrate October 7 attacks against Israel
Remembering the one year anniversary of the deadliest single-day attack on Jews since the Holocaust was already distressing, and on Monday, American Jews were faced with a stark reminder that those who wish harm upon us are present in New York City.
In Times Square, Grand Central, Columbus Circle, and other areas of the city, individuals were seen chanting in support of Hamas, Hezbollah, and other extremist groups with a history of violence towards Israelis, Americans, and Jews.
On American soil, they cheered for those who have American citizens in captivity, and they spoke of spreading their acts of violence to the shores of America.
Witnessing these individuals, many felt troubled and wondered how such hatred could exist in America and why they were allowed to openly express support for recognized terrorist organizations.
While many may feel discouraged by these displays of hate, I find hope in them.
I have hope because, as an immigrant, I believe in America and American exceptionalism.
These events serve as a wake-up call for America to rally and defend the freedoms that make it great.
It’s evident that the pro-Palestine crowd’s true target is America, as evidenced by their choice of disrupting American events.
Their goal is not sympathy but to showcase their hatred for America and its values.
Normal Americans are beginning to understand the depth of this hatred and are taking action against it, such as decreasing donations to institutions known for anti-Semitic sentiments and advocating for the deportation of those openly supporting terrorists.
Most Americans recognize Israel’s fight against Hamas and Hezbollah as a struggle for the western world against dangerous alliances like the Axis of Resistance.
While the threat is serious, so is our resolve to defend our values and freedoms.
