White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is leaving the Biden administration for a new home at MSNBC — perhaps the most qualified hire the network’s ever made, considering her expertise at prevarication.
Her record is unmatched as a deft diver into deep denial and utter bull to defend the indefensible and deny reality — which is MSNBC’s purpose.
- In February, after a reporter cited a 339% uptick in anti-Asian hate crimes under President Joe Biden, Psaki played the Trump card: “We’ve seen this rise unfortunately because of the hate-filled rhetoric and language around the origins of the pandemic.”
- In November, she dismissed Republicans’ soaring inflation concerns by telling reporters aboard Air Force 1, “Inflation will ease over time, whatever you want to call it. The question right now isn’t what you call it, it’s what you’re going to do about it.”
- That was less than a month after she laughed off the supply-chain disruption as “the tragedy of the treadmill” undelivered.
Those NBC News staffers reportedly upset that Psaki’s appointment will tarnish their brand plainly haven’t watched enough MSNBC to realize how tarnished it already is. As for Psaki, she’ll no doubt enjoy a new gig where no one ever asks her a difficult question.
