Rachel Zegler retracts controversial Trump post following backlash from “Snow White” fans

The updated version of the classic movie “Snow White” has become a burden for Disney due to recent controversies.

The film’s lead actress Rachel Zegler caused a stir when she posted an anti-Trump message on Instagram.

Her final statement was:

“May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace.”

A bold statement, to say the least.

After realizing the negative impact of her words, Zegler issued an apology.

This “Woke Snow White” has caused trouble for Disney in the past. 

Earlier in April 2023, there was outrage over the remake of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” with minimal inclusion of the dwarves.

Later, Zegler defended the choice by saying:

“People are making these jokes about ours being the PC Snow White, where it’s like, yeah, it is, because it needed that.”

Disney eventually included the dwarves in the remake.

However, Zegler’s reaction to an election outcome she disagreed with was predictable.

There was a backlash on social media:

“Not taking my kids to see this trash after the statement you put out.”

“I hope you get no peace when this film BOMBS at the box office and streaming.”

Megyn Kelly rightly pointed out that if a Broadway star made similar comments about Joe Biden or Kamala Harris, they would face consequences immediately.

A notable remark highlighted the fact that Zegler’s actions may alienate millions and tarnish the Disney brand.

Indeed, Disney is a publicly traded company.

How does insulting a large portion of the population benefit its shareholders?

While a box office failure for “Snow White” may not devastate Disney financially, it certainly won’t help either.

When will these corporations learn that alienating a significant portion of their audience is a poor business strategy?
