Senator Bob Menendez found guilty of working as a foreign agent
The Issue: NJ Sen. Bob Menendez convicted of influence-peddling and being a foreign agent.
The heavy metal shoe of justice has crushed Sen. Bob Menendez’s foot (“Bob the bilker,” July 17).
Now that he has been convicted of leveraging his political power for financial gain, all the skeletons in his closet have been exposed, and the doors flung open.
He was caught with his hand in the pot and he is guilty of accepting bribes from officials from Qatar and Egypt.
For this, Menendez must be punished to the full extent of the law.
He can spend the rest of his life in prison, hanging out with fellow criminals.

The arrogance of “Gold Bars” Bob is beyond belief.
Several years ago his trial on similar charges ended in a mistrial, but now justice has caught up.
Furthermore, his wife Nadine was involved in a fatal car accident in Bergen County, in which she struck and killed a pedestrian with her Mercedes-Benz.
The police concluded she was not at fault without testing her for drugs or alcohol.
Now, finally, justice prevails because Bob has been convicted of all counts against him.

Menendez is a disgrace to all Americans.
He is the epitome of what is most vile about our political system.
He should step down.

Menendez kept getting elected by New Jersey voters, even when there was evidence he was a crook.
But then, many of those same voters also voted for President Biden.
It’s been said New Jersey deserves better.
Well, Jersey voters kept him in office.
I never could figure how the people of our state could be so dense as not to see how crooked Menendez is.

New Jersey is on the verge of having its third Democratic senator end his political career in disgrace in just over 40 years, following Pete Williams and Robert Toricelli.
This is not an enviable record.
Menendez must resign so that Gov. Phil Murphy can appoint a qualified caretaker to occupy the office.

The Issue: The American Federation of Teachers proposal calling to end the war in Gaza.
America’s second-largest teachers union has overstepped its bounds (“Teachers union sets classless anti-Israel votes,” July 17).
The fact that the teachers union has put this resolution forward to be voted on amazes me.
These teachers should be focused on teaching kids.
Our test scores are so far behind other countries’, it’s embarrassing.
The United States is ranked 12th in education in 2024 globally.
Maybe the teachers union should start worrying about teaching students and not what’s going on in Israel.
It’s an absolute embarrassment that the richest country in the world ranks so poorly in education.
Our math and science test scores are down, and yet the union is worrying about what’s happening half a world away.

Leave it to The Post to find a way to sicken me during breakfast with an article about the American Federation of Teachers agenda.
The union is set to vote for a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas, and likely declare solidarity with the college protesters and Palestinian activists.
You do not have to be Jewish to speak out against this.
God help the kids in this country who have no option other than a public education.
