Thank the Democrats’ border policies for the 600,000 migrant criminals in the US
Kamala Harris continues to push for the failed “bipartisan immigration bill” as the solution to the border crisis, but it seems that what the nation truly needs is something more along the lines of the “Be Gone Act” introduced by Sen. Jodi Ernst.
The “Be Gone Act” expands the definition of “aggravated felony” to include sexual assault and aggravated sexual violence, making migrant sex offenders eligible for deportation.
Furthermore, recent data from Immigration and Customs Enforcement revealed that a staggering 662,566 migrants with criminal backgrounds are currently in the country. Among them are 13,099 murderers, 1,845 individuals accused of murder, and 15,000 convicted of sexual assault.
These are only the criminals that ICE is aware of. With over 1.7 million “gotaways” and countless others who go undetected, the actual number is likely much higher.
Though it is unclear how many of these criminals entered the country under the current administration, it is evident that sanctuary laws have been shielding them. When local law enforcement is prevented from cooperating with federal authorities, dangerous individuals are allowed to commit crimes unchecked.
Ernst’s approach of keeping known threats out is necessary, along with increased resources for Border Patrol and ICE. The rules for asylum seekers must also be tightened, contrary to the loosening proposed in Harris’s desired bill.
It is essential to halt the influx of illegal migrants to better control who is allowed entry.
Despite record levels of incoming migrants, the number of criminal migrants arrested has decreased by 57%, with a 67% drop in deportations under the current administration compared to the previous one.
Harris, Biden, and Walz argue against enforcing immigration laws already in place, while releasing rapists and murderers into American communities is deemed “compassionate.” It is crucial for Congress to draft a bipartisan bill that ensures only legal migrants who can contribute positively to the nation are admitted.
