The authority of the presidency

Jill Biden showcased her commitment to family by attending her stepson Hunter Biden’s gun trial in Wilmington last week, sitting prominently in the front row in colorful outfits. Her powerful presence in the courtroom, marked by stilettos and bold power suits, ensured no one, especially the jury, could overlook her.

To demonstrate her dedication to Hunter, when she had to accompany the president on an official visit to France for D-Day commemorations during the trial, Dr. Jill arranged for a taxpayer-funded solo round trip back to the court from Paris with her aide Anthony Bernal, emphasizing her support for Hunter.

However, according to Lunden Roberts, who had to file a paternity suit against Hunter and obtain a court-ordered DNA test for their daughter, the first lady has treated the president’s seventh grandchild unkindly and callously.

Roberts, in her book “Out of the Shadows,” reveals that neither Jill nor Joe nor Hunter Biden have ever met Navy, their 5-year-old granddaughter. Describing her tumultuous relationship with Hunter in 2018, Roberts recounts the challenges of dealing with his addiction issues, court battles, and neglect towards Navy.

Despite a reduction in child support payments, Roberts managed to secure a promise from Hunter to establish a relationship with Navy through Zoom calls. It wasn’t until later, in a statement to People magazine, that Joe and Jill acknowledged Navy as their grandchild.

“Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter,” said Joe in a statement. However, Navy’s exclusion from the family Christmas display and other instances of neglect highlight the first family’s lack of acknowledgment.

In a podcast interview, Roberts expressed her disappointment at the exclusion of Navy and the hurt caused by the first family’s actions. Despite Hunter’s initial denial of Navy’s existence, Roberts hopes for a positive change in their relationship.

Roberts’s unwavering devotion to her daughter and willingness to forgive Hunter show her strength. However, her reluctance to forgive the Biden matriarch suggests deeper wounds that may take time to heal.
