The Chaos of Donald Trump’s Fraud Trial: Reader’s Response
The Issue: Judge Arthur Engoron’s treatment of former President Donald Trump during his fraud trial.
The outcome of President Trump’s trial doesn’t matter anymore (“Open and ‘Shut’ Case,” Nov. 7).
These politically biased proceedings have assured Trump the GOP nomination for president of the United States, while exposing the faults in our judicial system.
The judge and attorney general are a disgrace. Recent polls in battleground states are indicative of what is to come. People have had enough.
Trump should be given two more terms to make up for all the distractions and unproven accusations he faced during his first term.
It’s time to hold the Democrats responsible for all the lies perpetrated against Trump that have led to the downfall of this country.

Accused of inflating his net worth and the value of Mar-a-Largo in order to get a bank loan (that has been repaid in full), Trump has been forbidden by the judge to comment on the case to the media.
The prosecution, however, is under no such restriction. This has allowed James to seek out any open mic to spew her anti-Trump rhetoric to the press.
Although the “trial” is due to last well into December, the fix is already in and the verdict is a foregone conclusion.
It will be left to Trump’s legal team to seek justice and a fair trial on appeal.

As a Massachusetts resident, I’m happy that Letitia James is not my attorney general.
She ran on taking down Trump, but of all the charges Trump faces, these are the weakest.
And the judge in the case seems completely deranged and is just looking for his 10 minutes of fame.
He may convict Trump on these charges, but they will be overruled in a higher court, so this joker judge will have no impact at the end of the day.

The goings on at Trump’s fraud trial are reprehensible. Judge Arthur Engoron has not tried to hide his hatred for Trump, and it seems to me like he should have exempted himself from the trial.
This arrogant, narcissistic publicity hound is the one person who will make the decision about the outcome of this case. The outcome will determine whether the judge is prejudiced and whether the law was followed.
James is as hateful, if not more so, toward the former president. She campaigned on “getting Trump” and that speaks volumes to her credibility.
I pray for Trump and his family every day, and that justice will prevail.

There’s a reason they’re going after Trump: They’re afraid of him.
He may be rough. He may be too outspoken. He may be too aggressive. He may be a lot of things we don’t like, but he was a good president.
He’ll be a good president again if he’s elected. He’ll certainly outperform the current president.

So much for innocent until proven guilty.
The judge in Trump’s trial might well as be Lavrentiy Beria, Russia’s chief of secret police during the 1930s and ’40s. Beria is known for having said “Show me the man, and I will show you the crime.” Engoron has already decided against Trump.

The Post’s editorial accused Trump of being “disrespectful” (“James vs. NY’s Economy,” Editorial, Nov. 8).
But “disrespectful” to whom? James? The judge? Just look at the disrespect they’ve shown Trump. These lowlifes don’t deserve any respect from Trump — or from anyone, for that matter.
Obviously, The Post editors, along with James and Engoron, have forgotten that Trump was president for four years and might win again in 2024. Trump is owed at least a modicum of respect.
