The left’s latest target for criticism: Supreme Court Justice Alito

There is another day, and once again, a Supreme Court justice is being unjustly attacked.

For years, attempts have been made by the left to undermine the court, challenge its decisions, and compel conservative justices to step down from important cases.

While Clarence Thomas has been a common target of these efforts, lately, the focus has shifted to Samuel Alito.

Last week, a New York Times article titled “At Justice Alito’s House, a ‘Stop the Steal’ Symbol on Display” started a new wave of attacks.

However, it turned out that the article was actually about a three-year-old dispute involving Martha-Ann Alito, the justice’s wife, and their neighbors in a Northern Virginia neighborhood.

Alito clarified that he had no part in the flag being flown and that it was a response to offensive language on yard signs from a neighbor.

The offensive sign was a “F*** Trump” banner placed near where children waited for the school bus.

After previous protests by the left at homes of Supreme Court justices, Mrs. Alito raised an inverted American flag outside their home.

The underlying message of the article insinuated that Justice Alito was too biased to fulfill his duties as a justice.

However, there is no evidence to support this claim.

Even if the upside-down flag was related to the 2020 presidential election, Alito has no reason to recuse himself from any cases.

While it may have been unwise for Alito’s wife to display the flag, spouses of justices have their own rights under the First Amendment.

Furthermore, by the time of the distress flag incident, Donald Trump had already conceded the election.

There is no evidence that Alito has ever let his personal views affect his judicial decisions or that it warrants recusal.

Even if Alito had flown the flag himself, it still wouldn’t require recusal by the standards set by the left.

Justices often express political opinions, as seen with Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s comments about Donald Trump.

The recent allegations against Alito over participating in a Bud Light boycott due to hiring a transgender influencer are baseless.

The justice selling stock in the company doesn’t indicate any wrongdoing, as he disclosed it in his financial records.

No rule prevents a justice from speaking out on non-legal matters, and selling stock is a personal decision.

Attempts by Democrats and the media to create new standards to undermine the court are unfounded.
