The mainstream media’s concealment of Biden’s cognitive decline was lengthy: Letters

The Problem: Mainstream media outlets starting to acknowledge President Biden’s cognitive decline.

No one, not even the left-leaning media, “suddenly realized” that President Biden has been experiencing a significant decline in mental sharpness (“Media suddenly realizes Biden is addled,,” July 3).

They were aware of it all along but chose to suppress it until it became glaringly obvious.

Just imagine if Biden were a Republican: He would have been relentlessly criticized. But because he is a Democrat, Biden received special treatment and unwavering support until the truth came to light.

The New York Times proudly proclaims in its masthead that it publishes “all the news that’s fit to print.”

However, there has been a glaring omission to that statement when it comes to reporting on Biden’s declining mental abilities.

It was only recently that the Times decided this was news worth reporting after everyone became acutely aware of Biden’s diminishing faculties. This was not a bold or ahead-of-the-curve decision.

The media have been complicit in covering up for this incompetent president for over four years.

Now, after the public witnessed the debate firsthand, there is no way for the media to continue covering up for this disastrous presidency.

Many journalists have recently observed signs of cognitive decline in President Biden.

During the 2020 election, it was evident to many that then-candidate Biden was being shielded and protected.

Yet, for four years, the media failed to investigate or expose this concealment of Biden’s condition. The media must be held responsible for this negligence.

I believe most observant individuals were aware of Biden’s health issues.

Democrats and progressives in the media chose to hide this from the American people. Winning an election was more important to them than the welfare of the country.

We should involve Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in this matter. I’m certain he could find grounds for felony charges related to true election interference.

The Problem: FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh’s scathing remarks about the male workforce at FDNY.

As a former member of the FDNY, I know firsthand that most current members have little respect for FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh (“Commish’s ‘fire’ ire,,” June 30).

This lack of respect is not due to her gender but rather her leftist views and her displeasure with the predominantly male composition of the department. Her efforts to align herself with fellow leftists and Trump critics, such as Attorney General Letitia James, are not surprising.

While liberals once championed free speech, they now only support speech that aligns with their beliefs. Those who booed James had every right to do so, and this non-issue should have been resolved long ago.

Laura Kavanagh has no business serving as the commissioner of the FDNY.

Her appointment is a result of our misguided mayor. She has no firefighting experience and only a background in athletics and politics, particularly for former President Barack Obama.

It is shameful that such an incompetent individual is overseeing the courageous men who risk their lives daily — a field about which she knows next to nothing.
