The policies of NYC Child Services that have recently been implemented will lead to the deaths of black children.

Mayor, be cautious: The adoption of woke ideology by the city’s Administration for Children’s Services may lead to headlines about deceased black and Hispanic children due to ACS’s policies.

As reported by Naomi Riley in Sunday’s Post, an ACS whistleblower has raised concerns about Commissioner Jess Dannhauser’s changes in the factors that trigger investigations, including removing parental substance abuse and related issues.

In the pursuit of racial equity, the agency is shifting focus from child removal to targeting a specific group of at-risk youth. Dannhauser emphasized the importance of keeping families together over the risk to children’s safety.

A 2022 ACS report, not yet released, described the agency as a “predatory system” that disproportionately scrutinizes black and brown parents compared to white families.

While ACS data shows higher rates of child maltreatment accusations in black families, it also reveals that black children in abusive households are at greater risk of fatality compared to white and Asian children.

Former ACS Commissioner David Hansell, who succeeded Gladys Carríon, emphasized the agency’s responsibility to ensure child safety and protect them from abuse.

Intervening promptly to safeguard abused children is essential, as delaying action could have dire consequences.
