The protesters advocating for Palestine at Rockefeller Center’s tree-lighting ceremony: who are they?
One noteworthy aspect of the pro-Hamas protests at the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting is the disturbing nature of the demonstrators’ actions.
All the familiar elements of affluent left-wing protests were present – including genocidal chants and an open call for the destruction of the Jewish state, among other offensive displays.
This type of behavior is an example of the violent embrace of empty beliefs and ideas that are devoid of substance.
Who are these individuals?
Many of them are clearly young people who have been failed by society.
Parents have allowed social media and misguided influencers to influence their children, resulting in a superficial, left-leaning political stance because it is seen as fashionable.
Schools have become places of indoctrination into antisemitic and anti-US beliefs, starting as early as pre-K and continuing into recent incidents of hate in New York City.
Additionally, two years of lockdown and isolation have likely exacerbated the situation.
Overall, these young people are angry and are seeking purpose, eagerly manipulated by the small group of teachers and online role models who are in league with Hamas.
Do these protestors really expect to gain any support through these disruptive displays?
Disrupting the Rockefeller tree lighting, a beloved New York tradition, has nothing to do with Israel’s justified counterattack against Hamas.
The intention behind these displays is solely to cause destruction and fear, and to express their deep-seated anger.
It is necessary for civic and cultural leaders, as well as parents, to provide the guidance and training these young people clearly need.
