Since the moment Donald J. Trump descended the escalator at Trump Tower in 2015, he has defied the norms of conventional politics.

He has consistently presented Americans with the blunt truth regarding everything from harmful “free trade” agreements to a malfunctioning immigration system, and from perpetual foreign conflicts to our dual justice system.

Rather than conforming to “conventional wisdom” or political norms, he has remained focused on prioritizing what truly benefits the American populace.

This commitment is precisely why everyday Americans, disillusioned with indecisive leadership, overwhelmingly chose to re-elect President Trump.

As expected, Democrats and the mainstream media are in an uproar about President Trump extending his distinctive style of governance to his Cabinet and agency nominations.

Similar to their assessments of President Trump himself, his personnel selections have faced backlash for supposedly lacking “traditional” qualifications or for holding “unconventional” perspectives.

What these critiques overlook is that it was those very unconventional views and unique backgrounds that led Americans to cast their votes in favor of re-electing him.

They opted for a president and administration committed to cutting through the noise and disregarding arbitrary credentials in pursuit of genuine results.

If you find this surprising, reflect on the past four years governed by “the adults” in charge.

Many of Joe Biden’s nominees and staff appeared quite qualified on paper, adhering to the long-standing ways of Washington—but most have turned out to be, at best, incompetent or, at worst, severely detrimental to our country’s stability and prosperity.

Biden’s Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, touted an extensive resume filled with prestigious positions at the highest circles of our nation’s security and foreign policy sectors, from the State Department to the National Security Council.

Under Blinken’s “exceptionally qualified” oversight, the Biden administration managed to turn what was an unprecedented era of global peace into widespread conflict and disorder, affecting regions from the Middle East to Ukraine to Asia.

Similarly, Biden’s Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, held numerous high-level roles, including director of Citizenship and Immigration Services and deputy DHS secretary, coupled with a successful legal career.

This conventional choice to lead DHS oversaw a surge of millions of illegal immigrants entering our nation, encompassing suspected terrorists, sex offenders, and violent gang members.

What about the prodigy Pete Buttigieg? The polished Rhodes Scholar with a background at McKinsey, renowned as one of the top consulting firms worldwide?

After receiving $7.5 billion to establish numerous electric vehicle charging stations nationwide, he managed to deploy fewer than ten in a span of two years.

This is just a glimpse, but it’s evident that the American people are tired of what seems appropriate on paper; they desire results in real life, and they voted for the fresh perspectives necessary to steer the country—and the world—back on course.

President Trump’s nominees, despite the criticism, are prepared to accomplish precisely that.

For instance, Tulsi Gabbard, a lieutenant colonel in the US Army Reserve, has courageously articulated how our national-security establishment has led us into unending conflicts while jeopardizing American security.

She was even controversially placed on a terror watchlist by a politically weaponized government for expressing these crucial viewpoints. Who could be better suited to serve as our director of national intelligence, focusing on enhancing national safety?

Kash Patel has similarly been dedicated to addressing the politicization of law enforcement against Americans like President Trump, who faced multiple investigations fueled by the Russia hoax, all while genuine violent offenders are allowed to roam freely.

For those Americans concerned with Making America Safe Again, that background sounds like an excellent—albeit “unconventional”—fit to reform the FBI.

Despite our material wealth, Americans experience some of the highest chronic disease rates globally. Rather than selecting a medical “expert”—regardless of conventional qualifications—who has overseen this grave situation, President Trump opted for a proponent of preventative medicine, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., to introduce new ideas aimed at Making America Healthy Again.

This assembly of visionaries and leaders that President Trump has gathered is poised to fulfill the promise of Making America Great Again.

Democrats and the media can spend the next four years obstructing and panicking, as they did in the initial Trump administration, or they can collaborate with the president to contribute to the nation’s resurgence.

Nearly 80 million Americans clearly indicated last month which path they prefer.
