Trump Resumes Targeting Terrorists and Rectifies Biden’s Missteps — It’s Magnificent
Donald J. Trump is once again taking action against terrorists and issuing warnings to anyone who threatens Americans — and it’s remarkable.
Back in 2017, Trump authorized an anti-ISIS strategy that eased military engagement restrictions, accelerating the brutal defeat of the jihadist organization.
By 2019, ISIS in Iraq and Syria had been dismantled. However, under the Biden administration, the group has seen a resurgence.
Following Biden’s chaotic and embarrassing exit from Afghanistan, ISIS-K has reemerged, launching attacks domestically and potentially expanding their recruitment efforts internationally.
Additionally, Chad and Niger expelled US forces from their territories, where American troops had previously been engaging in counter-terrorism operations.
The Biden administration struggled to counter escalating threats and appeared to be capitulating even to the most minor regimes.
Yet on Saturday, Trump declared on social media that he had ordered targeted military airstrikes against “the senior ISIS attack planner and other terrorists he recruited and led in Somalia.”
He elaborated that the strikes obliterated “the caves they inhabit” and emphasized that “The message to ISIS and all those who would attack Americans is that ‘WE WILL FIND YOU, AND WE WILL KILL YOU!’”
This aligns with Trump’s recent executive order, which designated the Houthis — essentially Islamist pirates — as a foreign terrorist organization, committing the US to “eliminate the Houthis’ capabilities and operations” to allow the United States and its allies to resume trade operations unhindered.
Since Hamas’s violent assault on Israel on October 7, the Iran-backed Houthis have targeted cargo and energy shipments between Asia and Europe.
This sends a clear message that, thus far, Trump’s second term vision of America First and peacemaking mirrors his first term strategies, signifying that for the sake of peace, security, and freedom, Trump remains prepared to utilize decisive and lethal force.
