UN neglecting Israel as Hezbollah constructs terror tunnels nearby

The ongoing conflict between the Israel Defense Forces and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon has once again captured global attention.

During a visit to Lebanon on Saturday, the IDF showed me some of the findings from their operations against Hezbollah.

Recent clashes between the Israelis and the United Nations peacekeeping force in the area have also heightened tensions.

Several UN force members have been injured recently, with the IDF taking responsibility for some incidents while also highlighting Hezbollah’s aggression towards the peacekeepers.

Since the end of the 2006 war, the UN peacekeeping force has failed to maintain peace along the border between Lebanon and Israel, allowing Hezbollah to launch rocket attacks without repercussions.

Recent footage has shown UN peacekeepers retreating into their bases when Hezbollah launched rockets towards Israel, indicating a lack of action on their part.

Resolution 1701, which aimed to prevent Hezbollah from rearming after the 2006 war, has not been effectively implemented, leading to a significant buildup of weapons in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah’s tunnel network near the Israeli border has raised concerns about the UN’s lack of oversight, as tunnels were discovered in close proximity to UN bases.

The IDF’s ground operations in Lebanon have revealed numerous tunnels, weapons caches, and terror infrastructure maintained by Hezbollah with support from Iran.

Despite significant destruction of Hezbollah’s arsenal by the Israeli air force, concerns remain about the group’s capabilities and intentions towards Israel.

The IDF has uncovered multiple sites inside Lebanon where Hezbollah terrorists were stationed, highlighting the extent of the group’s presence and preparations for attacks.

With over 700 caches of weapons found in one area alone, Hezbollah’s investment in building up its terrorist infrastructure poses a threat not only to Israel but also to the people of Lebanon.

The UN’s failure to effectively enforce resolutions and maintain peace in the region has contributed to the escalating tensions and violence between Israel and Hezbollah.

As rockets continue to fall on northern and central Israel, the UN’s role in the conflict has come under scrutiny, with questions about their effectiveness in preventing further escalation.

The situation remains volatile, with the blame for any future escalation likely to fall on international bodies like the UN that have failed to uphold their responsibilities in the region.
