Why is the media protecting professional pro-Hamas extremists?
Mayor Adams was correct in attributing the campus disturbances at Columbia and other universities to professional agitators with ties to terrorism. At Columbia and City College, 282 individuals were arrested, with 134 of them having no affiliation with either school.
Despite NYPD intelligence indicating the presence of outside agitators, some members of the media questioned the mayor’s assertion, suggesting he had fabricated the information.
However, the arrest data confirmed the mayor’s claims, revealing a significant number of individuals not affiliated with the universities involved in the protests.
While it is reasonable to demand evidence to support claims, there was already existing evidence of outsiders playing a significant role in the unrest.
Groups like Palestine Action US and Within Our Lifetime openly advocate for disrupting university activities and reject the distinction between students and outside agitators. The People’s Forum also supports student-led movements against funding apartheid and genocide.
This situation mirrors the events of the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots, where the media portrayed the violence and intimidation as grassroots movements when they were, in fact, orchestrated by ideologically motivated groups.
While there may be individuals with antisemitic views on college campuses, it is crucial to acknowledge the role of professional agitators in exploiting these sentiments for their own agendas.
