Electric Vehicles are Suffering from Wheel Failure
Opinion
2023 has been a year of setbacks for the proponents of electric cars and renewable energy. And it seems that there are more setbacks to come.
One major issue is that consumers are discovering that the advertised distances for electric vehicle charges are not accurate. Despite being marketed as capable of traveling “between 100 and 300 miles,” the range can vary significantly depending on the weather. According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), ranges can drop by as much as 12 percent when temperatures are just 20°F, and by 4 percent when temperatures are 95°F. Additionally, using air conditioning can cause the range to drop by as much as 17 percent. Even driving into a headwind can have a negative impact on the range of electric vehicles.
