Pentagon Receives Reports of Hundreds of Fresh UFO Sightings
The total number of UAP cases under review has reached over 1,600 as of June.
Congress mandated the annual report by the Department of Defense’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) to study and document reports of UAPs, previously known as UFOs.
The report stated that from May 1, 2023, to June 1, 2024, AARO received 757 UAP reports, with 485 incidents occurring within the reporting period and the remaining 272 incidents occurring between 2021 and 2022 but reported during this period.
With these recent findings, the total number of UAP cases under AARO review exceeds 1,600 as of June.
Out of the reported cases, 49 were confirmed to be common objects like balloons or birds, while 243 were categorized as ordinary objects and recommended for closure by June. However, 444 cases lacked sufficient data and were archived for future investigation.
Notably, 21 cases were identified as needing further analysis due to unique characteristics and behaviors not typically observed.
Despite these unexplained incidents, the report emphasized that there is no evidence of extraterrestrial beings, activity, or technology involved in the UAP cases.
The report also revealed that some patterns in UAP cases included unidentified lights and objects with distinct visual traits.
Of these cases, 81 were reported in U.S. military operating areas, with three involving military aircrews being trailed or shadowed by UAPs.
The Federal Aviation Administration reported 392 unexplained sightings out of the 757 reports since 2021.
One resolved case involved a commercial pilot mistaking white flashing lights for a Starlink satellite launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida. AARO is investigating if other unresolved cases could be attributed to expanding Starlink and other mega-constellations in low earth orbit.
The report maintained that no UAP cases have indicated advanced foreign adversarial capabilities or breakthrough aerospace technologies, but any such findings would be immediately reported to Congress.
UAP Hearing
The report was released following a House Oversight Committee hearing titled “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Exposing the Truth,” where witnesses expressed concerns about government secrecy regarding the phenomenon.
Elizondo revealed that the government has operated secret programs to recover UAP crash materials for identification and reverse-engineering of alien technology.
He also mentioned that the U.S. possesses UAP technologies, as do some adversaries, indicating a long-term clandestine arms race funded by misallocated taxpayer dollars and concealed from oversight bodies.
Elizondo raised concerns about excessive secrecy leading to mistreatment of individuals to hide the existence of extraterrestrial phenomena.
