104-Year-Old Woman’s Birthday Wish Fulfilled with a Visit to New York Prison | US News
A resident of a care home in New York was transported to the local jail to fulfill her dream for her 104th birthday.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office in Geneseo, located about 29 miles (46 km) south of Rochester, shared photographs of Loretta visiting their facility.
“Loretta, who resides at the Avon Nursing Home, expressed that for her birthday she wished to see the inside of our jail, as she had never visited one before,” stated the police department in a Facebook post.
“Loretta had a wonderful time exploring our jail facility and we are thrilled to have fulfilled her birthday wish!” the post continued.
Hurlbut Care Communities, which manages her care home, shared details about the activities Loretta enjoyed during her prison visit on February 10.
“Loretta savored birthday cake, had her fingerprints taken, posed for a mugshot, toured the jail, even spent time in a cell, and met several deputies, including one of their new K-9s!”
“Our thanks to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office for making Loretta’s wish a reality!”
The visit came just two days after her 104th birthday, which she celebrated at Avon Nursing Home with a party.
Pictures from her birthday celebration, featuring her with a large pink cake, were shared on Facebook by her care home.
