Abdul “Duke” Fakir, the last original member of the Motown group, the Four Tops, has passed away at the age of 88 due to heart failure, as confirmed by a family spokesperson.
The Four Tops were one of Motown’s most beloved and enduring acts, experiencing peak success in the 1960s. From 1964 to 1967, they achieved 11 top 20 hits, including two number one tracks: I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch) and Reach Out I’ll Be There. Their other popular songs include Baby I Need Your Loving, Standing In The Shadows Of Love, and Just Ask The Lonely.
Their last top 20 hit came in the early 1980s with When She Was My Girl.
Fakir passed away in the company of his wife and other loved ones.
