Accuser Drops Rape Lawsuit Against Jay-Z and Sean Combs | Entertainment News
A woman who alleged that Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs raped her in 2000 when she was only 13 years old has withdrawn her civil lawsuit against the hip-hop icons.
A document filed in federal court in Manhattan indicated that the plaintiff, known as Jane Doe, has voluntarily dismissed the case with prejudice, which means she cannot file it again in the future.
Tony Buzbee, the attorney representing the woman, chose not to comment.
Combs is currently incarcerated and awaiting a criminal trial set for May 5 on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.

He still faces numerous other civil lawsuits from various individuals, including several represented by Buzbee’s firm, who allege that he committed sexual assault and other forms of misconduct.
Combs has pleaded not guilty in the criminal case and continues to assert his innocence regarding all allegations.
The Doe lawsuit was the only one that specifically named Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, as a defendant, and he has rejected the claims made by the woman.
“Today represents a victory,” Carter stated in a message shared online by his entertainment company, Roc Nation.
“The frivolous, fictitious, and outrageous allegations have been dismissed. This civil suit lacked merit and was never going to succeed.”
Carter mentioned that the lawsuit caused distress for his wife, Beyonce, and their children.
In a joint statement, Combs’ legal team asserted that their client has never engaged in sexual assault or trafficking.
“We will persist in combating these unfounded claims and hold accountable those who are responsible,” the lawyers declared.
Doe accused Carter and Combs of assaulting her at an afterparty following the 2000 MTV Music Video Awards.
