Amber Heard Slams Social Media in Response to Blake Lively’s Concerns About Justin Baldoni | Entertainment & Arts News
Amber Heard, the actress, has remarked that social media transforms falsehoods into perceived truths following Blake Lively’s allegations against co-star Justin Baldoni regarding sexual harassment.
In a legal complaint, Lively, aged 37, disclosed that Baldoni, 40, who also directs the film It Ends With Us, along with the film’s studio, devised a “multi-tiered plan” to tarnish her reputation.
The legal filing mentions that Baldoni enlisted PR crisis manager Melissa Nathan, who had previously been hired by Johnny Depp during his highly publicized defamation trial against Heard.
In a statement to Sky News’s US partner NBC News, Heard expressed: “Social media embodies the age-old adage that ‘a lie travels halfway around the world before the truth can get its boots on.’”
“I witnessed this firsthand, and it is as chilling as it is damaging,” she added.
Heard, who was judged by a jury to have defamed Depp, stated that the ruling “rolls back progress to a time when women who spoke out could face public humiliation and shaming.”
Lively asserts that the efforts to undermine her reputation followed her and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, 48, addressing “repeated sexual harassment and other unsettling behavior” exhibited by Baldoni and a producer.
The complaint outlines that the strategy included proposing to disseminate theories on online forums, orchestrating a social media initiative, and placing derogatory news articles about Lively.
It also claims that Baldoni “suddenly shifted away from” the marketing plan for the film and “leveraged domestic violence survivor narratives” to safeguard his public persona.

Bryan Freedman, the attorney representing Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and their associates, stated that the studio “proactively” engaged a crisis manager “due to the numerous demands and threats issued by Ms. Lively during the production.”
“These accusations are entirely false, scandalous, and intended to maliciously harm and revive a damaging narrative in the media,” he continued.
According to NBC News, representatives for Baldoni did not immediately respond to Heard’s remarks on Monday.
