Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez finalize their divorce | Entertainment & Arts Update
Ariana Grande and real estate agent Dalton Gomez have officially ended their marriage after almost three years.
The 30-year-old Thank U, Next singer filed for divorce from her 28-year-old husband six months ago, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation.
The divorce was finalized by a Los Angeles court on Tuesday, with Grande making a one-time payment of $1.25m (£980,000) to Gomez and sharing half of the proceeds from the sale of their Los Angeles home.
She will also cover up to $25,000 (£19,000) in legal fees for Mr. Gomez.
The couple started dating in 2020 and spent the COVID lockdown together, even appearing in a music video for Grande’s collaboration with Justin Bieber, Stuck With U.
Although Grande posted photos on Instagram in August 2021 showing their domestic life, the couple had actually split over a year prior.
Grande’s recent album, Eternal Sunshine, was released on 8 March, marking her seventh studio album and following the success of Positions in 2020. The album quickly rose to the top of the UK charts, becoming her fifth number one album.
In addition to her music career, Grande will also return to acting later this year in the film adaptation of the stage musical Wicked, playing the good witch Glinda alongside Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba. The first film is set for release in November.
