Austin Police Discover Explosive Devices at Tesla Dealership

Authorities uncovered incendiary devices at a Tesla dealership in Austin, prompting further investigation in light of attacks on Tesla across the nation.

On the morning of March 24, Austin police responded to reports of hazardous materials at a Tesla dealership. Officials stated that officers discovered incendiary devices and safely secured them without any injuries.

The call was received around 8:04 a.m., and officers arrived at the dealership to investigate what they deemed “suspicious devices.”

According to a statement from the Austin Police Department (APD), “When officers arrived on scene, they identified suspicious devices and requested the APD Bomb Squad for assistance. The devices were determined to be incendiary and were taken into police custody without incident.”

Authorities indicated that the investigation remains active.

“This is an open and ongoing investigation, and no additional information is available for release at this time,” the APD’s statement mentioned.

This incident comes on the heels of growing concerns regarding attacks on Tesla dealerships across the country. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has issued a warning urging Americans to be vigilant against vandalism and arson at Tesla facilities.

Investigators have noted a surge in incidents nationwide, including the use of firearms, graffiti, and improvised incendiary devices. Authorities believe that the alleged attackers may be targeting Tesla vehicles and properties due to political reasons.

While the FBI did not specifically mention Tesla CEO Elon Musk, several incidents have been connected to public backlash against Musk due to his role as an advisor to President Donald Trump and his involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The FBI has urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity or threats directed at Tesla locations.

This month, federal authorities charged three individuals linked to attacks on Tesla dealerships. According to the Department of Justice, the suspects could face five to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Among the incidents, one individual was apprehended in Salem, Oregon, for throwing Molotov cocktails at a Tesla dealership. Another suspect was arrested in Loveland, Colorado, for allegedly attempting to ignite vehicles, while a third person in Charleston, South Carolina, was taken into custody for allegedly spraying anti-government messages before setting Tesla property ablaze.

Musk has publicly stated that the company has enhanced security measures at its dealerships by activating a “Sentry Mode” feature on all vehicles.

“This level of violence is insane and deeply wrong,” Musk stated on X last week, sharing a video of burning Teslas in Las Vegas. “Tesla simply manufactures electric cars and has done nothing to deserve these vile attacks.”

As of the time of publication, the FBI, San Antonio, and the Texas Attorney General’s office had not responded to requests for comment from The Epoch Times.
