Biden Alerts Nation to ‘Perilous Concentration of Power’ in Farewell Speech | US News
In his farewell address to the nation, US President Joe Biden expressed concern about a “dangerous concentration of power” among a select few wealthy individuals in the United States.
Though he did not mention president-elect Donald Trump by name, Mr. Biden remarked: “Today, an oligarchy is forming in America characterized by extreme wealth, influence, and power, which poses a true threat to our democracy, our fundamental rights, and the equality of opportunity for all.”
During his Oval Office speech, Mr. Biden also highlighted his role in the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
“This plan was conceived and negotiated by my team, and it will be largely executed by the incoming administration,” he asserted.
“That’s why I instructed my team to keep the incoming administration fully updated, as it should be—collaborating as Americans.”
