Biden Pays Tribute to Veterans at Arlington National Cemetery
President Joe Biden expressed his deepest gratitude for the opportunity to lead, serve, care, and defend the nation in his final Veterans Day address at Arlington National Cemetery on Nov. 11.
Accompanied by the First Lady, Vice President, and Second Gentleman, he honored the sacrifice of veterans and their families while urging them to continue fighting for American ideals.
In his speech, he emphasized the unique foundation of the nation on the idea that all are created equal, acknowledging past shortcomings but reaffirming the commitment to those principles.
Following a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which marked its 100th anniversary, the President, along with other dignitaries, paid tribute to the soldiers who have given their all for the country.
Biden’s address came shortly after the election results, and he humbly acknowledged the privilege of serving and defending those who have served the nation with unparalleled courage.
Reflecting on his term, he highlighted efforts to end conflicts, pass legislation supporting veterans, and expand benefits and services for those who have served.
He assured the audience of ongoing commitments to veterans and their families and expressed gratitude for the sacrifices made by Gold Star and POW-MIA families.
