Bill Clinton Released from Hospital
At 78, Clinton has faced several health challenges throughout his life.
WASHINGTON—Former President Bill Clinton was discharged from a Washington hospital on December 24 after receiving treatment for a fever, as reported by an aide.
“He and his family are sincerely grateful for the outstanding care provided by the staff at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and appreciate the kind messages and well wishes he has received. He sends his warmest regards for a joyful and healthy holiday season to everyone.”
Clinton, a Democrat who served as president from 1993 to 2001, was admitted to the hospital on December 23.
Clinton, who is 78, has a prior record of medical issues.
Six years later, the former president encountered chest pains, which led to the opening of a heart artery in a New York hospital.
In 2021, Clinton experienced a blood infection and received treatment at a hospital in California.
This year, Clinton campaigned for Vice President Kamala Harris, who ultimately lost the November 5 election to President-elect Donald Trump.
He spoke during the Democratic National Convention in August.
“I want to express this sincerely: I have no idea how many more of these I can attend,” he remarked.
After the election, Clinton informed “CBS Sunday Morning” that the Democratic Party needed to connect with non-college-educated Americans.
Recently, Clinton has made remarks regarding the Middle East, expressing disbelief over Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat’s decision to reject a peace deal with Israel at the Camp David Summit in 2000, where Israel offered East Jerusalem and 96 percent of the West Bank.
“If you walk away from these once-in-a-lifetime peace opportunities, you can’t complain 25 years later when the doors aren’t still open and all the possibilities aren’t present. That just isn’t right,” he stated at the New York Times DealBook Summit on December 4.
