Border Chief Homan Claims Tren de Aragua Gang Raid Details Were Leaked, Promises Accountability
Homan announced that his team has pinpointed the origin of the leak.
On February 6, Border Czar Tom Homan vowed to track down those accountable for disclosing details of a raid aimed at members of the Tren de Aragua (TDA) gang, ensuring they face consequences.
“This isn’t a game,” Homan stated to reporters gathered outside the White House. “Leaks like this put our officers in significant danger.”
“We know the TDA is a threat. That’s a consensus,” Homan remarked. “But when they receive prior information about our operations, it becomes only a matter of time before our officers are ambushed.”
“Their duties are perilous enough, so we will take this matter very seriously.”
The raid under discussion occurred on February 5 in Colorado. Before addressing reporters, Homan informed Fox News that his team had already identified the leak’s source, which is not the first instance to obstruct the border czar’s efforts.

Prior to President Trump’s inauguration, a leak occurred concerning Homan’s immigration enforcement strategy in Chicago, leading him to modify his plans.
Homan indicated that if leaks persist, future media access to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) might be restricted.
“From the beginning, I said we want to be transparent with the American people,” he noted. “We have invited many media organizations to join us, but right now, operational security is the priority.”
“Consequently, we may need to suspend media ride-alongs—I’m not blaming them, but fewer people knowing about these operations means greater safety for our agents.”
Trump tasked Homan with leading a significant deportation initiative that he promised to his supporters, outside of the Department of Homeland Security. Homan’s office operates within the White House and reports directly to Trump.
When questioned regarding reports of ICE releasing certain detainees, Homan expressed his intention to investigate the situation.
“I was informed of this issue earlier today, and I will address it promptly, but I’ve been told some individuals were released due to health concerns that couldn’t be addressed within ICE facilities,” he explained.
“I have a meeting with ICE leaders today to find out exactly who was released and why, but the president made it clear that we are ending catch-and-release.”
Homan stated that approximately 11,000 illegal immigrants have been apprehended since Trump’s inauguration on January 20. He emphasized that this number would increase as the leaks and threats to public safety are tackled.
“As we broaden our focus beyond just criminals, you will see a rise in arrests,” he affirmed. “I’ve made it clear that if you are in the country illegally, you are not off the table.”
