Bruce Springsteen: Donald Trump is vying to become ‘American tyrant’, reports US News
Rock icon Bruce Springsteen has cautioned that Donald Trump aspires to become an “American tyrant” as he threw his support behind Kamala Harris in the race for the White House.
During a rally for the Democratic candidate, Springsteen took the opportunity between songs to argue that Ms Harris will safeguard democracy and advocate for women’s reproductive rights.
He expressed his desire for a president who respects the constitution and does not jeopardize freedom, directly criticizing Mr Trump for not upholding these values.
“He lacks an understanding of this country, its history, and what it truly means to be American,” Springsteen remarked, adding that Mr Trump is “vying to become an American tyrant.”
Following Springsteen on stage was former President Barack Obama, who stated that Mr Trump’s “goofy” behavior should not overshadow the potential danger of his presidency.
Obama highlighted comments made by Mr Trump’s former chief of staff, John Kelly, who alleged that the former president expressed a desire for his generals to emulate Hitler.
“In politics, it’s generally wise to refrain from making statements that even remotely resemble Hitler. That’s just good political advice,” Mr Obama remarked.
“However, it does provide insight into how Donald Trump thinks. And John Kelly is not the only one making such claims.”

Obama gives Trump ‘political advice’
During his own rally in Arizona, Mr Trump accused Ms Harris of purposefully dismantling the border.
He claimed that his Democratic opponent had “thrown open the gates” to a influx of criminal migrants from various institutions around the world.
He went on to assert that individuals from 181 different countries are entering the US illegally, stating: “We’re being used as a dumping ground. We’re essentially a trash can for the world.”

Mr Trump has faced criticism for his immigration rhetoric.
If elected, he has promised to initiate the largest deportation effort in US history and recently stated at a rally that deporting migrants would be “a bloody story” – comments that drew backlash from immigrant advocates.
The upcoming election on November 5th is still a close contest, with polls showing Ms Harris holding a slight lead nationwide, while bookmakers seem to favor Mr Trump.
