Car Driver Found Among Fatalities in Philadelphia Plane Crash that Claimed Mother and Daughter’s Lives | US News



The mayor of Philadelphia has confirmed that the driver of a car was also among the fatalities following a medical transport plane crash.

All six individuals on the aircraft were killed, including a young patient and her mother, who were returning home to Tijuana, Mexico, alongside four crew members.

In addition, at least 19 people sustained injuries due to the crash, which resulted in several homes being set ablaze.

The child on board had recently finished treatment for a critical medical condition, and the plane went down approximately 30 seconds after takeoff.

During a news briefing on Saturday, Mayor Cherelle Parker disclosed that another individual lost their life while in a car at the time of the incident.

She also indicated that the number of injured individuals might increase.

Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, the operator of the Learjet 55, previously stated: “We cannot confirm any survivors.”

The plane crashed near the Roosevelt Mall in the Rhawnhurst neighborhood of Pennsylvania around 6:30 PM local time on Friday (11:30 PM UK time).

On Saturday, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum took to social media to confirm that the six people who initially were reported deceased were all nationals of Mexico.

This tragic event follows a separate incident in which 67 people were reported dead after a collision between an American Airlines passenger jet and a military helicopter in Washington DC.
