CCTV Captures Shoplifters Distracting Cashier with Pythons Before Stealing from Gas Station | US News
Law enforcement is searching for four individuals who utilized two pythons to distract a cashier while they made off with $400 worth of CBD oil from a gas station.
CCTV footage captures the cashier conversing with two of the suspects—a man and a woman—after they approached the counter at the Citgo store in Madison County, Tennessee.
The male suspect is seen holding a coiled ball python while the woman gently pets it.
At one point, the male suspect places the snake on the counter as the woman seems to engage with someone off-camera.
He then dangles a second ball python over the counter before the footage abruptly stops.
Ball pythons are non-venomous constrictors native to Africa, typically reaching a maximum length of approximately 1.8 meters.
The CCTV footage has been circulated online by 731 Crime Stoppers, a Tennessee non-profit organization that assists law enforcement in finding wanted individuals.
According to 731 Crime Stoppers, the four perpetrators—two black men and two black women—stole $400 (£308) worth of CBD oil on March 4th before fleeing in a black four-door sedan.
The organization noted that the trunk of the vehicle was “secured with bungee cords” and concluded their appeal with the hashtag: “#moron.”
