Crowds Riled at Rep. Greene’s Trump Rally in Manhattan
The rally for former President Donald Trump hosted by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., went off without issue, but there was a heavy police presence limiting access, and security was pushing through crowds while ushering Greene.
Videos of the crowds were posted to Twitter, including the security ushering Greene away from the speech that was difficult to hear because of the crowd noise. Also, a reporter noted there were counterprotesters antagonizing Trump supporters, the New York Post reported.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat elected in a very low-voter turnout election in a deep-blue city, warned Greene rallygoers to “be on your best behavior.“
But former New York City Police Department Commissioner Bernie Kerik was incredulous at what he called a gross partisan admonishment of Trump and Greene supporters, while not doing the same for the counterprotesters that amplified the noise and pushing by security.
“This is f**king insane! Did the New York City mayor @ericadamsfornyc warn the leaders of Black Lives Matter and #antifa, when they were burning down the entire city?” Kerik tweeted.
