Demi Moore and Rob Lowe had a brief fling during St Elmo’s Fire filming | Entertainment & Arts Update

Rob Lowe has disclosed that he and actress Demi Moore briefly had a romantic relationship back in the 1980s, during their Brat Pack fame.

The now 60-year-old West Wing actor starred alongside Moore, who is now 61, in the popular coming-of-age film St Elmo’s Fire in 1985.

During an appearance on the Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast with Kelly Ripa, Lowe shared, “Demi and I briefly, I’m not telling tales out of school – we briefly had a thing.”

The ensemble of St Elmo’s Fire included popular young actors from the eighties era such as Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, Andrew McCarthy, Judd Nelson, and Emilio Estevez.

Lowe mentioned that with many of the stars being part of the Brat Pack – named after Frank Sinatra’s Rat Pack – it was expected that some off-screen romance would occur during filming.

“Look, anytime you put young, 20-something men and women together, hookups are inevitable. And I don’t think that has changed,” he shared on the podcast.

Lowe also revealed that a sequel to St Elmo’s Fire is in progress, although it is moving forward slowly.

He mentioned his communication with Moore regarding the film, stating, “All of the actors [are] on board… Everybody is excited.”

The beloved classic follows a group of college graduates navigating the challenges of adulthood.

An upcoming documentary about the Brat Pack, directed by former member Andrew McCarthy, showcased some of the cast earlier this year.

Moore, who had recently finalized her divorce from her first husband, singer Freddy Moore, at the time of filming the original movie, went on to have a relationship with co-star Estevez, to whom she was briefly engaged.

In 1987, Moore married action star Bruce Willis, with whom she shares three daughters.

After their split in 2000, Moore later married actor Ashton Kutcher in 2005, before their separation in 2011.

Moore has been promoting her latest film, the body horror movie The Substance, which explores a fading Hollywood star’s struggle to preserve her youth.
