Entertainment News: Suits creator alleges that the Royal Family prohibited Meghan from using a specific word on the show

The Royal Family “weighed in” to stop Meghan Markle from saying a particular word on Suits, according to the TV show’s creator.

Aaron Korsh told The Hollywood Reporter that “poppycock” was scrubbed from a script – amid fears it could have been maliciously edited.

He explained that Meghan’s character Rachel was going to have an argument with her partner Mike – and in a nod to his in-laws, he wanted to use British slang.

But Korsh was surprised to hear that palace officials were reading scripts for upcoming shows – and offering feedback.

“The Royal Family did not want her saying the word,” he revealed. “They didn’t want to put the word ‘poppycock’ in her mouth.”

Reflecting on why this might have been, Korsh added: “I presume because they didn’t want people cutting things together of her saying ‘c***’. So we had to change it to ‘bulls***’.”

The writer wasn’t best pleased – not least because he had told his in-laws that the word was going to feature in the show.

Korsh said he couldn’t remember who told him to make the tweak – but insisted it came from a producer or an agent rather than from Meghan directly.

“I had some sympathy because I wouldn’t want somebody doing that to her either. And the thing is, I didn’t think anybody really would, but also I don’t know. People are crazy,” he said.

Elsewhere in the interview, Korsh admitted that Meghan’s relationship with Harry has had an undeniable role in the legal drama’s success on streaming services.

When he first found out about the relationship, he jokingly said his initial reaction was: “We’re dating a prince!”

Korsh and several of Meghan’s castmates had attended the royal wedding back in 2018.
