Spears explained in her Instagram post that the knives were not real and that she was imitating a performance by Shakira. This incident follows previous instances where fans have contacted the police regarding Spears, including when she deleted her Instagram account earlier this year. Spears has attributed her temporary departure from social media to people making fun of her dancing videos. The incident also comes shortly after her husband, Sam Asghari, filed for divorce.
