Erin Moriarty Responds to Megyn Kelly’s Remarks About Plastic Surgery | Entertainment and Arts Update
Erin Moriarty has revealed that she has been subjected to online “verbal abuse” after being accused by former Fox news anchor Megyn Kelly of getting plastic surgery, causing her to struggle with eating and sleeping.
The 29-year-old actress, known for her role as Starlight in The Boys on Amazon Prime, took to Instagram to share her experience of being bullied after Kelly’s comments about her appearance.
Moriarty explained that she discovered the offensive remarks during a difficult week and was horrified by the abusive messages she received. Kelly had criticized her weight and facial structure, using her as an example of young people resorting to plastic surgery, during an episode of her SiriusXM show on 17 January.
Responding to Kelly’s comments, Moriarty clarified that the “before” picture that Kelly used was taken almost a decade ago when she was not yet of legal drinking age. She also mentioned that the “after” picture was taken on a day when she had her makeup done professionally, which involved heavy contouring, and was a stressful day for her.
Moriarty expressed her shock at the negative reaction and the false assumptions being made about her, and said that she would no longer be using her Instagram account due to the harassment she had faced. She accused Kelly of perpetuating a message of “exhibitionist feminism” and emphasized that the videos spreading false information were deeply hurtful.
Finally, Moriarty called out Kelly for mistreating her and spreading false news and stated that she would not tolerate such behavior. Sky News has made an attempt to reach out to Kelly for her response.
